Story behind ILDAH
Hello, I’m the girl behind ILDAH. My name is Shahidah.
ILDAH was created with a simple idea: cute and stylish scrunchies made for everyday wear for someone you love, including you.
I’ve always worn scrunchies every single day. But I kept running into the same problem after wearing a scrunchie just two or three times, it would stretch out, lose its shape and stop giving my hair volume. It didn’t look good anymore and it didn’t feel worth wearing. The options were frustrating. Cheap scrunchies were affordable but they didn’t last which meant buying them again and again. On the other hand, higher end scrunchies were beautiful but often too expensive for something we use so frequently. And let’s be honest scrunchies are something many of us buy all the time. They get worn out, lost, or simply stop working the way they should.
That’s where ILDAH was born.
I wanted to create scrunchies that truly feel worth buying. Some are made for everyday use pieces that last, hold their shape and stay comfortable wear after wear. At the same time, I also wanted to offer more elevated options for when you feel like something extra. That’s why ILDAH includes everyday scrunchies alongside premium versions made with richer textures, designed to feel a little more special when you want that elevated touch. Whether you’re choosing something simple for daily wear or reaching for a softer, more luxurious feel.
ILDAH is a self‑founded, independently run brand built from passion and intention. I carefully choose fabrics; design styles I genuinely want to wear and turn ideas from my mind into something real. This brand is about more than scrunchies. It’s about creativity, independence, and building something meaningful from the ground up. While ILDAH is run independently, it’s supported by a kind community of friends, family, and customers who believe in the vision and help share it with the world.
