Story behind ILDAH

Hello, I’m the girl behind ILDAH, my name is Shahidah. This is more than just scrunchies.
It’s a piece of my story, my family’s love, and my community’s quiet strength stitched into every item we make. I come from a place where, for many of us, the future can feel far away  like something meant for someone else. A place where hope doesn’t always come easy. But ILDAH was born from the belief that even in the smallest corners, beautiful things can grow.

This little business started in a small room at home, surrounded by my family’s encouragement, fabric piled on every surface, and dreams that felt too big for us but never too big for our hearts. Each scrunchies we create is made with care not just as an accessory, but as a reminder that small dreams are still dreams… and they can come true.

I’m learning to love myself, trust the process, and hold tight to the joy in every step of this journey. ILDAH is about more than accessories it’s about community care, family support, and finding light in unexpected places. If you’re wearing ILDAH, thank you for being part of this journey.
